This youthful wine is a great expression of the variety in the South Burnett. Aged in American oak for just 2 years has ensured a fruitier finish with flavours of licorice & blackcurrant predominate but in balance with the complexity expected from this variety. Savoury black pepper & dark fruit characters are supported by a dash of vanilla feel on the palate, underpinned by balanced acidity. It can be enjoyed now with food, but will gain further complexity for years to come. Because of these traits look for food pairings like charred rich burgers, marinated steaks & pizza. Whilst ready for drinking now, it will only improve with careful cellaring, peaking between next 5-10 years.
